About the Course
This course aims to help participants acquire theoretical knowledge on different aspects of speech, language and communication, including typical speech-language acquisition and development from birth to adulthood, as well as an overview of Speech, Language and Communication Disorders.
The course is designed to help participants gain a greater understanding of the impact of speech, language and communication disorders on learners’ receptive and expressive language, social, emotional and behavioural needs, as well as their learning experiences and outcomes in a classroom, and will introduce some practical classroom management and teaching strategies which can be incorporated into classroom practice to support learners with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
Target Audience
The target audience may be teachers who need specific strategies in supporting preschool learners struggling to develop pre-literacy or early literacy in the classroom, or parents who want to support their children at home, or other professionals and specialists who support preschoolers diagnosed or suspected of having learning differences.
Learners who may benefit from the strategies shared in the course include :
Learners in Preschool, Primary or Secondary level who may be struggling to learn vocabulary, to understand spoken or written language or struggling to express themselves, be it due to unclear speech, or communication which does not convey the intended message effectively.

Get an overview of a Speech and Language Assessment

Apply strategies to support children with SLCN in the classroom
COURSE DELIVERY
