About the Course

The 15-hour certificate course will expose participants to the current research on dyslexia and Chinese language, as well as pedagogical approaches to support children with language learning difficulties. Through building awareness of the nature and structure of language, participants will gain a better understanding of the difficulties dyslexic children face when learning the Chinese language, especially as a second language. Participants will also be introduced to strategies that can actively engage children in building literacy skills such as orthographic and morphological awareness, stroke formation and patterns, oracy skills, comprehension and writing. Some other helpful resources will also be shared in this course.
