Overview

Consultancy Services

DAS Academy now provides consultation services to support organizations and practitioners in enhancing their skill sets as educators to learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Our consultation services can centre on any topic related to teaching and learning, including sharing of resources, exploring evidence-based strategies and developing suitable programmes for SEN learners.

We offer individual, small group and departmental consultations designed to meet your needs.

Consultations can revolve around several core needs:

  • Programme development
  • Individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Support for lesson planning and delivery
  • Lesson observations including post-observation discussions
  • General case management

Through individualised consultation services, participants can build on their capacity in supporting learners with SEN. Participants will have the opportunity to gain deeper knowledge and more personal theory-to-practice learning experience as they will be supported by an assigned supervisor in the process of planning an IEP, planning and delivery of lessons and general case management discussion. The consultations can also serve as a platform for developing a programme suitable for SEN learners or reshaping an existing programme to better meet the needs of current learners.

Past Consultation Services

Mentoring and Supervision Programme for Therapists Supporting Learners with Literacy Difficulties

This programme comprised of consultation sessions on Individualized Education Programme Plans, lesson planning support and lesson observations. The sessions included providing guidance in the appropriate choice of teaching tools and resources as well as curriculum development.

At the end of the programme, the participants would be able to:

  1. Gain a deeper understanding of their learners’ difficulties by identifying and assessing their needs through informal assessment tools
  2. Use principles from various educational and inclusive frameworks to improve their teaching instruction

  • EXPERIENCED LECTURERS

With more than 10 years of practical experience each, DAS Academy lecturers share their experiences in supporting children with learning differences.

Lecturers from the University of South Wales, United Kingdom will also visit during term-time for each module, ensuring that students receive a balanced view of their syllabus from both local and international perspectives.

  • Empowering Teachers

When we help you to get things right for learners with special needs, you will get things right for every learner in the class. Efforts taken to make instructions accessible to learners with special needs will inevitably increase the quality of teaching for all learners in the mainstream schools.

  • Bespoke Training

Your organisation's profile and needs will be carefully considered before any training proposal is drafted. Our training can range from a foundational awareness workshop to intermediate certificates in a specialised area, and can cover areas such as reading, spelling, or maths difficulties. Call or email us and we will be happy to help.
